Fire-Ravaged Cargo Ship Fremantle Highway Safely Reaches Port
Successful Tow and Berthing Operation in Rotterdam
Two months after a devastating fire erupted aboard, the cargo vessel Fremantle Highway has safely reached the port of Rotterdam, Netherlands. After a perilous journey, the vessel arrived via an emergency tow connection to a tugboat, approximately 17 kilometers north of the Dutch island of Terschelling.
Berthing and Recovery
Upon being towed to the port of Eemshaven, the Fremantle Highway was successfully berthed and secured. The next crucial phase involves the meticulous recovery of the fire-damaged vessel. Authorities will assess the extent of the damage and determine the necessary steps for salvaging the cargo and restoring the ship's integrity.
Safe Anchorage and Fire Extinguishment
Prior to reaching Rotterdam, the burning cargo ship was towed to a safe anchorage point, effectively containing the blaze. The successful tow operation enabled the safe extinguishing of the fire, preventing further damage and potential environmental hazards.
