Thüringens Kommunalwahlen: Stimmauszählung hat begonnen

Bei der Kommunalwahl in Thüringen hat die Stimmauszählung begonnen. Rund 1,7 Millionen Wählerinnen und Wähler waren am Sonntag zu den Kommunal- und Europawahlen aufgerufen. Bis 14 Uhr hatten nach Angaben des Landeswahlleiters 36,4 Prozent von ihnen ihre Stimme abgegeben. Das sind deutlich weniger als bei der Kommunalwahl 2019, als die Wahlbeteiligung noch bei 50,3 Prozent lag.
Gewählt wurden Landräte, Oberbürgermeister, Bürgermeister, Stadträte und Gemeinderäte. In einigen Gemeinden und Städten kommt es zu Stichwahlen, weil kein Kandidat die absolute Mehrheit erreichte.
Die Kommunalwahlen finden in Thüringen alle fünf Jahre statt. Das nächste Mal werden sie 2029 abgehalten.
