Tornado Touches Down in Bartlesville, Causing Widespread Damage
A large and destructive tornado tore through the cities of Barnsdall and Bartlesville in Washington County, Oklahoma late Monday night, causing major damage to residential and commercial structures. The National Weather Service confirmed the tornado was an EF-3 with winds of up to 165 mph.
Emergency Management Reports Extensive Damage
According to Washington County Emergency Management, the tornado caused significant damage to both residential and commercial buildings in Bartlesville. Among the damaged structures is the Hampton Inn, which sustained severe roof damage.
Bartlesville police are working 12-hour shifts until further notice to assist with the cleanup and recovery efforts.
Residents Urged to Stay Safe and Report Damage
Residents in the affected areas are urged to stay safe and avoid downed power lines and debris. Anyone who has sustained damage to their property is encouraged to report it to their insurance company and to Washington County Emergency Management.
